With great enthusiasm, I announce the New York State Association for Bilingual Education (NYSABE) 46th annual conference will be held for the first time in Syracuse, NY. We are proud to be able to bring our conference to Central New York and to offer you a great opportunity to grow professionally and enhance the dedicated work that our educational communities are doing in support of our bilingual/multilingual students.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Delegate Assembly, and Executive Director, I would like to invite you to participate in NYSABE’s 46th Annual Conference in Syracuse New York, on April 4-6 2024, at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown Hotel.

This year’s conference theme, “EMPOWERING MULTILINGUAL STUDENT VOICES TO ADVOCATE FOR THEIR RIGHT TO BILINGUAL EDUCATION,” highlights NYSABE’s commitment to ensuring that bilingual learners know the linguistic rights, entitled to by law, and instilling in them the life-long skills, knowledge, vision, and confidence needed to raise their voices in advocacy for themselves and their communities. Therefore, the conference is focused on these learners to ensure equitable educational opportunties and success for all multilingual/bilingual learners in New York State.  We will be offering sessions related to advocacy work through the lens of our students, highlighting the different ways they can stand up for their educational rights.

NYSABE also reiterates its commitment to support parents, community members, educators, and educational leaders by presenting a variety of sessions and resources that will address critical educational themes, including diversity, equity, belonging, multicultural/multilingual pedagogy, dual language instructional program models, bilingual special education, supporting immigrant students and families, and much more!
